ProAxion and Wonderware North Announce Partnership

April 15, 2019

Cary , N.C. -- ProAxion©, Inc., an Industrial IoT company specializing in predictive maintenance technology for manufacturing, recently entered into a strategic partnership with Wonderware North, providers of software and hardware used in a variety of industrial and manufacturing applications. The partnership would allow Wonderware North to provide the TACTIX system to their customer base - helping to increase and optimize the availability and reduce the maintenance costs of their assets.

While Industry 4.0 and IIoT have offered exciting improvements in industrial productivity and cost cutting efforts, the complexity of most systems makes it difficult for many facilities to take advantage of the up-time improvements those words promise. Darren Kline, Vice President of Wonderware North notes, “The simplicity of ProAxion’s plug and play TACTIX system allows for sensors to be added to our customer’s facilities in a matter of minutes.” The resulting insight into machine health is immediate, since no integration into existing control systems or IT networks is required to gain instant access to critical asset health data.

An added value to customers is the ability to easily extract data from the TACTIX web platform and feed an organization’s existing software infrastructure, allowing them to be data driven with their operational activities. “This partnership was actually the result of mutual customer requests,” explains Justin Rothwell, CEO and Co-Founder of ProAxion, Inc. “Wonderware North works with several of our existing customers, who asked them to integrate their Wonderware solutions with TACTIX and allow the critical reliability data our solution provides to extend into their existing Wonderware-based systems and processes.” Together, the two companies can bring deeper insight to more machines and allow plant and maintenance personnel to make more educated decisions on maintaining their assets.

The TACTIX system is available immediately to Wonderware North customers and will also be featured at the company’s upcoming Technology Expo events in Pittsburgh, Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago.

The TACTIX system is unique in how it drastically simplifies the process of measuring, transmitting, and analyzing vibration and temperature data for remote monitoring of rotating machines. The quick and easy plug-and-play installation removes many of the barriers of entrance into a wide variety of manufacturing facilities, because it requires zero integration with control systems or IT networks. As a result of the advances this system makes in machine health monitoring, ProAxion was recently recognized as a Top Internet of Things company at this year’s NC Tech Awards.

“Rotating machines, such as pumps, fans and motors, are used extensively throughout the industrial world: from power plants to candy manufacturing facilities. There are millions of these machines in the U.S. alone,” explains Justin Rothwell, CEO and Co-Founder of ProAxion, Inc. “As a result, U.S. industrial facilities lose billions of dollars a year due to unexpected machine breakdowns and inefficient maintenance practices. IoT provides a solution.”

Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS), a leading provider of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to the power industry, recently partnered with ProAxion and deployed its TACTIX systems at the CAMS’ managed Orlando CoGen Limited (OCL) facility located in Florida. To illustrate the impact IoT can have on maximizing a facility’s uptime, CAMS will join ProAxion at Connected Plant on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 pm in the “Using Wireless, Digital, and Drone Technology to Enhance Plant Maintenance and Improve Efficiency” track. There, the two companies will share real-world results from a recent trial performed at OCL, a power plant operated by CAMS. Join us in the session to learn how using a wireless remote condition monitoring system proves to have some unexpected benefits when making maintenance decisions.

Also, please visit Booth 107 at the event, where subject matter experts will be available to discuss benefits and applications of the TACTIX system.

ProAxion Unveils TACTIX Predictive Maintenance System to Maximize Industrial Uptime, Overall Equipment Effectiveness

Innovative Startup Leverages Industrial Internet of Things to Help Create More Products in Shorter Amount of Time with Fewer Defects, Unplanned Machinery Stops

January, 2018

RALEIGH, N.C. -- ProAxion©, developing practical applications for technology by starting with the business need, is pleased to unveil its innovative TACTIX™ 24x7 predictive maintenance system.

TACTIX maximizes industrial uptime by drastically reducing the cost and simplifying the process of measuring, transmitting, and analyzing vibration and temperature data for remote monitoring of rotating machines.

“At its core, TACTIX helps manufacturers create more products in a shorter amount of time with fewer defects and unplanned machinery stops,” explained Justin Rothwell, CEO and co-founder of ProAxion

Combined with total predictive maintenance techniques, TACTIX enables companies of any size (even small manufacturing operations under $1MM) to maximize up-time by decreasing equipment down-time, increase employee morale, decrease accidents, and reduce manufacturing costs while improving overall productivity and the quality of items produced.

While some sensor systems require additional hardware to integrate with a local network and require significant time and expertise to setup, the ProAxion TACTIX system is "plug & play" and does not require any customer integration, with setup to monitoring live data in literally just minutes.

Many vibration sensor systems produce raw vibration data which must be integrated with software to process and filter the data for meaningful analysis. Considering the cost of additional software analysis tools, and more importantly, the expertise required to set up and tune for meaningful alerts, the ProAxion TACTIX system produces instant value as all of this is built-in and live on installation.

There are other 3-axis sensors on the market, plus 2-axis and 1-axis. A key benefit with 3-axis sensors is that you can measure vibration from all directions with one sensor. 2-axis and 1-axis require multiple sensors to get the same level of data, and therefore drive up the cost of deployment. ProAxion's TACTIX sensor measures 3-axis vibration.

TACTIX was specifically designed for the manufacturing environment. All materials, metals and plastics, were chosen to handle a wide range of chemical exposures and typical manufacturing cleaning methods (IP68).

ProAxion is actively developing products like TACTIX for the demanding environments of the industrial world using the latest in wireless sensor, cloud-based analytics and mobile communications technology. The company leverages extensive knowledge and expertise in predictive maintenance (PdM), using non-intrusive continuous monitoring to assess a machine asset's condition. PdM can be "route-based" with scheduled measurement by operations staff OR accomplished via installed sensors, which is also known as Condition Monitoring. The Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) is being driven by new developments in sensor and wireless technology.

ProAxion was recently selected as a Top Ten Startup at the 2017 North Carolina Technology Association’s NC Tech Awards, recognizing companies and individuals who have characterized excellence, innovation and leadership.
